Apurba Bhattacharya News: Before the start of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Congress got a double blow on Sunday. First Maharashtra Congress leader Milind Deora resigned. Now Apurba Bhattacharya has resigned from the post of Congress Secretary in Assam. He remained in Congress for more than a decade. The resignation of these two leaders before Rahul Gandhi’s visit is being considered a big loss for the party. Actually, Rahul Gandhi’s journey will also originate from Maharashtra and Assam.

Let us tell you that the Congress party is facing continuous setbacks in Assam. Many of its big leaders are leaving the party and joining BJP. In November last year, two prominent leaders of Assam Congress left the party and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). One of the two leaders who had resigned was Suresh Bora, former president of Nagaon District Congress Committee, who is contesting the assembly elections from Berhampur assembly constituency in 2021. Along with this, Assam Pradesh Youth Congress working president Poritush Roy also resigned from the party.

Congress got two shocks in one day

Let us tell you that Congress has suffered two setbacks in one day. The first blow came from Mumbai, where veteran party leader and former Union Minister Milind Deora resigned. Milind Deora, 47, wrote on Twitter after his resignation on Sunday (January 14), “Today marks the conclusion of an important chapter in my political journey. I have tendered my resignation from the primary membership of the Indian National Congress, thereby parting ways with the party.” My family’s 55-year-old relationship has come to an end. I am grateful to all the leaders, colleagues and workers for their unwavering support over the years.” Milind’s father Murli Deora was also a Congress leader.
